Rajon Rondo partners with Lineage Logistics and Dare to Care Food Bank to provide fresh, healthy prepared meals to seniors
Rajon Rondo Foundation launched our new initiaitive today in partnership with Lineage Logistics and Dare to Care Food Bank.
In an effort to encourage healthy eating habits, provide support to the community and reduce food waste we have landed on a new initiative to provide healthy, chef prepared meals that are flash frozen and delivered to our families free of charge.
Poverty and access to healthy food options are a reality too many of our citizens face. Many of us do not know how to incorporate healthy , fresh produce into our diets. It is not what is typically available in neighborhood grocery stores that we have access to or possible with a limited budget.
Our partnership with Lineage Logistics gave us the opportunity to brainstorm with the professionals at Dare to Care to find a way to optimize our impact in the community.
We decided to use the beautiful new facility Dare to Care opened in West Louisville and the hands and hearts of their talented chefs and staff. They prepared a variety of healthy single meals that are balanced, nutritious and properly portioned. These meals were delivered in partnership with our outreach teams at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church and Little Flock Baptist church.
This was the first of what will become bi- weekly deliveries to senior and families in need . They will receive a cook book with quick, affordable recipes and a box of non-persishable food items.
Rajon Rondo Foundation is committed to eliminating hunger and promoting healthy lifestyles in an equitable manner with love.
